Corrections Program Supervisor Michelle Bones

Another high-ranking female employee of Racine Correctional Institution is on administrative leave. According to prison insiders, Michelle Bones is accused of having an inappropriate and perhaps illegal relationship with a prisoner. We asked Wisconsin Department of Corrections spokesman John Beard for confirmation. He would only confirm that Michelle Bones was indeed on leave and would not elaborate. KCE spoke with a spokesman for the Racine County Sheriff’s Department, Lt. Luell told KCE that its investigation division doesn’t currently have an open investigation in regards to this incident. KCE called both Michelle Bones, and her husband, and both appear to have their phones turned off.

Unit Manager Jacqueline Heidt (37) Racine Correctional Institution

This is the second incident of this type to occur recently. Unit Manager Jacqueline Heidt (37), was arrested for 41 felonies related to sexual contact with inmate, drugs, and misconduct in public office. In the 7-page criminal complaint, the more-than-five-month affair between Heidt and an inmate are detailed:

The internal affairs unit at the prison contacted the Racine County Sheriff’s office on August 24, 2022 to ask for an investigation about an in appropriate relationship between a high-ranking Unit Manager, Jacqueline Heidt, and an inmate. The inmate is identified as Travis D Jones, who is serving 45 years for kidnapping an 18-year-old girl from a bus stop and raping her. DNA evidence linked Jones to the rape. He and Heidt began a sexual relationship on or about March 4, 2022. The allegations apparently surfaced when Jones overdosed on drugs given to him by Heidt. A cell phone was found on his person at the hospital that Heidt smuggled into the jail for him. It allegedly contained nude photos of Heidt. There were conversations between Jones and Heidt in the phone. Heidt even told the inmate that she wanted to have his baby and got pregnant with his child. She sent him photos of her children also and told him their names. Heidt’s husband would later tell police she “went to a clinic for a medical procedure that stopped the pregnancy.” KCE thinks this is a strange way of saying “she had an abortion.” The inmate told investigators about the sexual contact. They had sexual intercourse 3-4 times a week (more than 20 times, but less that 40) in her office. She performed oral sex on him about 15 times, and he performed oral sex on her about two times. The inmate was very clear that the sexual contact was all consensual, although Wisconsin Statutes don’t allow consensual sex between a corrections employee and inmate. Prison staff had also obtained sexual recorded phone conversations between the two. Investigators asked Jones if he knew of any tattoos or birthmarks that could prove that he’s seen her naked. He told investigators that she had a birthmark between her butt cheeks about the size of a 50 cent piece and larger than normal nipples. Heidt denied having either, but this was confirmed by her husband and investigators obtained a warrant to view the area between her butt cheeks and her nipples. When police looked, they confirmed what the inmate had told them. Heidt initially denied the allegations to police, but later invoked her right to remain silent when confronted by the evidence.

Lorenzo Guyton and WI Governor Tony Evers (D)

A 51-year-old violent convicted murderer who is alleged to have attempted escape in late October fron Racine County prison, is a Governor Tony Evers (D) parolee, KCE has learned. Lorenzo Guyton only served about 30 years of a 58 year prison sentence, when Governor Tony Evers’ parole commission released him on September 24, 2021. Aside from murder, he was also charged with armed robbery and other serious felonies in 1992. Five months after being paroled, he allegedly committed armed robbery again in Milwaukee County. He was then held on a $10,000 cash bond and sent back to prison. He eventually made his way to RCI, or Racine Correctional Institution, where he allegedly attempted escape. According to a source familiar with the investigation, Guyton made it over one of many fences outside of the prison. Guyton, however, encountered a fence that was electrically charged and reportedly was rendered unconscious. Alarms meant to alert correctional staff to such behavior were ignored for 45 minutes until Guyton was discovered outside the walls of the prison. Click here to read the criminal complaint from his murder conviction. Guyton was charged on 11/22/2022 for attempted escape as a repeater.
